BICAS and Originate

Near 526 9th Avenue- April 8, 2010 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Stop by the BICAS (Bicycle Inter-Community Action & Salvage) and Originate, a natural building materials showroom, Bike 2 Work Station along 9th Street, north of the railroad tracks. Enjoy reflective bike themed stickers donated by the Gloo Factory and Small Planet Bakery treats.

Downtown Bike 2 Work Day

400 North Toole Ave. - April 9, 2010 from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m.

Celebrate bike commuting at the downtown Bike 2 Work event at Maynard’s Market. The Bicycle Advisory Committee will present their Commuter and Advocate of the Year Awards starting at 7:45 a.m.  Enjoy live music by Michael P., free food, and more. 

Downtown Historic Bike Tour w/ Zocalo Magazine Staff

Start at Hotel Congress, 311 East Congress Street - April 8, 2010 from 4:45 p.m. to 5:45 p.m.

Join the Zocalo Magazine staff for an after work cruise of downtown’s historic districts beginning at Hotel Congress.  Discover culturally significant sites in downtown Tucson and its surrounding neighborhoods.  At the end of the tour, bikes can stick around and mingle over drinks at Barrio Brewery.

Start at the Tucson Museum of Art, 140 North Main Avenue - April 9, 2010 from 4 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Join the Downtown Tucson Partnership and Ward 1 for a tour of downtown public art and downtown revitalization projects. The tour will terminate at a local hot spot, Steak in the Neighborhood, 135 E. Congress, for happy hour.

UA Bike 2 School Day

1303 E University Blvd - April 7, 2010 from 9 a.m to 2 p.m.

Celebrate biking to the UA on the central Mall at the Bike Station from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.  This event is hosted by the UA Parking & Transportation Services and the UA Cycling Club. 

At the event you can:

  • Register your bicycle for free
  • Have your bike tuned-up by Trek Bicycles of Tucson or the UA Cycling Club
  • Get a free bike map and information about bike commuting
  • Find out about how to enter the Commuter Challenge and learn more about other Bike Fest events.
Xoom Juice

2739 East Speedway - April 5, 2010 from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. (one day only)

All week Xoom Juice will be giving back to the bike commuters.  Xoom Juice will be offering free small Smash of Strawberries smoothies with a scoop of protein (hyperlink to website: http://www.xoomjuice.com/html/menu.html) to bike commuters who show their helmet, and say Bike Fest.  

Yoga Hour
